Las Vegas 2014

Fulfilling the artist’s dream of creating an urban installation, in 2014 a giant Life Cube was constructed in downtown Las Vegas. The Life Cube was soon covered in constantly evolving images and overlapping murals painted by local artists and visitors. Thousands of visitors wrote their personal hopes and dreams on over 35,000 “wish-stick” postcards and dropped them inside the Cube. The installation resounded with collaborative art and music and was brilliantly illuminated, adding color and dramatic effects to the downtown Las Vegas skyline.

Newscasts featured the project. Podcasts covered it. Bloggers, photographers, and tweeters documented the transformation of the Life Cube day by day. Artist Scott Cohen visited scores of local classrooms and distributed smaller cubes and wish-sticks to area schools, businesses, bars, restaurants, and community centers to share the message throughout the Las Vegas valley. And on March 21st, the Life Cube burned in a fiery and festive ceremony with 10,000 ‘Cube-ists’ on site to witness and celebrate the moment together.
